Residents' Complaints
As a homeowner in DuQuesne Place, you have a responsibility to keep your yard (front and back) mowed and trimmed. You should also apply chemicals for weed maintenance.
Shrubs and landscaping should be trimmed and over growth not allowed. Mulch should be refreshed each year. If you have vines growing on your side of the fence please be sure the vines are trimmed so they will not encroach on your neighbor.
Fences must also be maintained. Remove and replace any cracked, rotten or missing boards, including fence gates. Left over scrap lumber should be brought to the curb for pickup. Call 311 for service. Please do not leave scrap or discarded lumber in your neighbors yard or in a "green space" area.
Please do not blow or sweep grass clippings or leaves into the street. This is a violation of POA rules and there is a city ordinance against this practice which could lead to a fine.
We want DuQuesne Place to be attractive to visitors and especially to people looking for homes. Keeping our home sites attractive will add to our property re-sale values.
Maintain Your "Curb Appeal"
Could your home use a bit of "curb appeal"? You don’t want your house to be the one on the street that drags down the value of other homes. Basic exterior maintenance tips include:
1. Mow, fertilize, weed and maintain the lawn and shrubs;
2. Make your front door color "pop" with a color that accentuates your home's exterior;
3. Add new door hardware. Choose a color that contrasts with your door's paint color such as brass on a dark colored door;
4. Change or add exterior lighting. Sidewalk lighting can be attractive way to light up a walkway;
5. Remove those items you have stored along the side of your home. Don't let the side of your home be a dumping area for items you no longer use.
Did You Know .......?
1. Trailers, boats, and campers can not be kept on your property unless stored in your garage.
2. Outbuildings or storage buildings are not allowed on your property,
3. No animals or poultry may be kept except for ordinary house hold pets.
5. Improvements such as additional parking area, fences, walls, hedges, poles, swimming pools, roofing type, solar panels must be approved by the Chenal Architectural Control Committee.
